"Envisioning the Future of Cross Cultural Mental Health"

What is the Cross Cultural Mental Health Conference About?

The Cross-Cultural Mental Health Conference promotes ongoing dialogue between the mental health and addictions system and cross-cultural communities by exploring current issues and potential solutions/promising practices. It provides attendees the opportunity to network with other mental health practitioners, front line workers and professionals about the practice of Cross Cultural Mental Health.

This year's conference theme of "Envisioning the Future of Cross Cultural Mental Health" will look at the innovative usages of technology along with the consequences technology holds for us in dealing with mental health. From Facebook, Twitter, and other Social Media sites to the relationships we gain and lose by using them, the impacts and implications of mental well-being will be defined and looked at! Social isolation, depression, socioeconomic levels in society are all implications we need to look at now when envisioning what the future holds for cross cultural mental health.

“Gaining information about different organizations and meeting professionals who work in these organizations was fantastic!”

“Networking and meeting with people was great!”

“The importance of informing mental health workers about diversity – handling people with multiple backgrounds so clients are
not conveniently categorized and stereotyped”
